Camp Cost Share:
Our Camp Cost Sharing is a sliding scale between $350-800 dollars (we suggest $450 as a general average). This sliding scale is based on the diverse financial situations of our campers. Please give on the high end of what’s possible for you. We set out low-end of camp dues at the bare minimum and our high end of camp dues at our dream level. (like being able to invest more deeply in our 3-year solar/wind energy plan).
Camp Cost Share goes towards paying for our kitchen and meals, private toilets, fuel, propane, infrastructure improvements, shade structures, freight and building materials. If we have any leftover funds from camp they will go towards investing in future infrastructure. All infrastructure we purchase belongs to BWB-BRC as a collective and is ours to use for future projects.
**There are many campers for whom these costs are nominal. If you are able to make a higher donation to create a scholarship for our lower-income campmates, please let us know. Alternatively, these costs should not be prohibitive for you to join the camp. If your cost-share will create a hardship for you, please have a conversation with us.**
If you have questions about which tier of dues is right for you, email: brc@burnerswithoutborders.org
Additional Costs:
Tear Down fee: There is an additional $100 cleanup fee which will be returned to you if you stay through the end of tear down on Monday night (leaving playa after dark on Monday). This fee will support feeding, watering, and housing our tear-down team that stays past Monday (some participants may stay as late as Thursday after the event- THANK YOU TEAR DOWN KREW!).
In order to receive your cleanup fee returned to you you must check out of camp with the Check Out Team.
If you do not check out when leaving camp, and/or if you leave before the end of teardown on Monday evening, your fee will not be returned to you and it will go towards supporting the tear-down crew. If this is a financial hardship, please have a conversation with us.
Optional Infrastructure Costs:
Our camp does have some group infrastructure, and other options. This includes bringing an RV, limited access to storage, bikes, and housing (yurts & kodiak tents) to those who are traveling from a far distance. Please let us know if you're interested in these options in your registration form (or email us).
- Bike Rental ($100) - Limited inventory, priority given to international travelers.
- Bike Storage ($50 per year) -Keeping your personal bike in our container.
- Tent Housing ($200) -Either a Kodiak Tent of Shift Pod depending on availability.
- RV Parking ($400) - Access to power grid.
- Personal Storage of gear until next year. (cost depends on need)
How to pay your camp cost share:
First figure out how much you're going to pay:
(Choose your sliding scale amount from $350-800) + $100 tear down fee + any additional infrastructure costs* = Your Camp Cost Share!
*Additional infrastructure costs must be approved before you can expect them by contributing toward them, as availability is limited.
